The Simpsons has recast another character on the hit comedy show with confirmation that Cuban comedian, Tony Rodriguez has replaced Hank Azaria as the voice of Marge Simpson’s gay hairdresser Julio.
Julio is a gay character on the show and Rodriguez is himself openly gay. The news comes after Harry Shearer was replaced as the voice of Dr Julius Hibbert by African-American actor Kevin Michael Richardson.
The changes on The Simpsons all stem from the documentary, the Problem with Apu which resulted in Hank Azaria, who is from New York and had voiced the Indian character for over 30 years stepping down from the role and the character been written out of the show until he is recast with an Indian actor.
