U.S tennis legend Serena Williams has been forced to withdraw from the 2021 Wimbledon tournament after retiring from her match against Aliaksandra Sasnovich ending her hopes for this year at least of winning a 24th grand slam.
Williams, 39, had a heavily strapped thigh as she began the match and slipped in the fifth set before being forced to retire in the seventh set and tweeting after the match, Williams said:
