Sky Sports F1HD issued an unreserved apology to championship contender Max Verstappen and his Red Bull Racing after what the Milton Keynes-based outfit called extremely distasteful advertisement where Sky Sports wished their views Happy Christmas over Max Verstappen’s crash at Silverstone.

In a statement, Sky Sports F1HD said:

We have apologised unreservedly to Max, Lewis and the teams for wrongly including footage of two crashes in an on air Christmas ident. This was a clear mistake and the images have been removed.
