Indy Pro 2000 race winner and highly rated racing driver James Roe will move up to the Indy Lights Series presented by Cooper Tires after inking a deal to race for TJ Speed.
Tim Neff of TJ Speed said:
We have completed a few test days with James, and he has progressed well in the transition from Indy Pro to Indy Lights. “As a top runner in Indy Pro last season, we are expecting him to challenge at the front of the Indy Lights grid in 2022 alongside Kyffin.”
The Indy Lights Series presented by Cooper Tires is sanctioned by the NTT IndyCar Series and speaking about the news, Ireland’s James Roe said:
“I am extremely happy to be joining TJ Speed this coming season. “The goal has been to be a driver in the NTT INDYCAR Series, and this is another step in my climb to achieve that goal.”
Roe went on to say:
This program is all down to the fantastic partners involved. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity and look forward to getting to work right away with the team. We are under no illusion of what it takes to perform in Indy Lights, and I am confident in the team around me.”
The Indy Lights championship presented by Cooper Tires 2022 season will consist of 14 rounds and will follow the NTT IndyCar Series calendar starting with next month’s Firestone Grand Prix of St Petersburg presented by R.P Funding which takes place from February 25-27.
James Roe concluded saying:
