Ex-F1 driver Max Chilton has revealed that it was his decision to leave the NTT IndyCar Series.
McMurtry Automotive announced this week that Chilton has been named their development driver to help them with the performance of their electric racing car.
Chilton stepped away from oval IndyCar races in 2019 but continued to compete in the Indianapolis 500.
The Englishman said earlier this week that his decision to step away from IndyCar was a gradual one and really began when he stop oval racing.
The 2022 NTT IndyCar Series season gets underway in just under three weeks with the Firestone Grand Prix of St Petersburg.
