Hamilton Had No Intention Of Quitting F1

Seven-time Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton is adamant that he never thought of quitting the sport at the end of last year despite reports to the contrary.

The Mercedes driver lost the 2021 championship to Red Bull Racing’s Max Verstappen and while Hamilton may have lost the title, Formula 1 race director Michael Masi lost his job over what happened in the season deciding Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Speaking at the launch of his teams 2022 car, the W13, Hamilton said that he just needed a break from everything after a hectic year.

Meanwhile Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1 Team Principal and CEO Toto Wolff has denied reports that Lewis Hamilton demanded that Michael Masi be removed from his position.

Michael Masi was removed from his position as Formula 1 race director on Thursday following an investigation into what happened in Abu Dhabi.
