Grosjean Leads The Way In The First Practice Of 2022

Andretti Autosport’s Romain Grosjean in the No.28 DHL Honda gave his new team something to smile about as he led the opening practice session for Sunday’s Firestone Grand Prix presented by RP Funding.

Grosjean set a fastest time of 01:01.0525s ending the day just ahead of his team-mate Colton Herta who set a time of 01:01.1567s.

Will Power in the No.12 Verizon 5G Chevrolet set a time good enough for third place with a time of 01:01.2282s.

Meyer Shank Racing’s Simon Pagenaud was fourth fastest with a time of 01:01.3249s.

It was a great session for Graham Rahal in the No.15 United Rentals Honda as he ended the day in fifth place with a time of 01:01.3683s.

Alexander Rossi was sixth with a time of 01:01.4570s just ahead of Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing’s Jack Harvey who set a time of 01:01.4903s.

Scott McLaughlin was eighth fastest with a time of 01:01.5354s.

Rinus VeeKay was ninth with a 01:01.5522s while rookie David Malukas rounded out the top ten for Dale Coyne Racing with a 01:01.5889s.

Helio Castroneves was 11th with a time of 01:01.6086s just ahead of AJ Foyt Racing’s Kyle Kirkword 01:01.6177s.

Delvin DeFrancesco was 13th with a time of 01:01.6632s just ahead of Josef Newgarden and Marcus Ericsson.

Felix Rosenqvist was 16th just ahead of defending champion Alex Palou.

Takuma Sato was 18th just ahead of Scott Dixon and Pato O’Ward who set a time of 01:01.8297s.

Conor Daly was 21st just ahead of Callum Ilott and Dalton Kellett.

Chip Ganassi Racing’s Jimmie Johnson was 24th just ahead of Christian Lundgaard and Tatiana Calderon.
