Ed Carpenter Racing’s Rinus Veekay is the No.21 Sonax Chevrolet says he is ok after a heavy crash during practice for the Indianapolis 500 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Wednesday morning.

Ed Carpenter Racing tweeted:

RVK has been checked, cleared and released from medical after contact in the first few minutes of the test.

The No. 21 @SONAX_USA crew is currently assessing the damage to the car. pic.twitter.com/Smq4zax33f
